The Riverton Sound Shell once stood here.
The soundshell was built in 1958 and owned by the Riverton Carnival Society until the organisation was wound up in 1989.
This was a great spot for many a stage performance and the decision was made to dismantle the sound shell in 2016 ,after the cost to bring it up to a safe standard was more than the the community was willing to spend.
