G'Day Possums!
This weekend brings the opportunity to earn another virtual souvenir for your geocaching profile by attending an event over the Austrlia Day weekend.
As well as the chance to soak up the atmosphere in this appropriately themed pub, attendees are also encouraged to:
- Take part in a few tabletop challenges
- Complete an Aussie-themed quiz sheet
- Talk in an outrageous Aussie accent
- Litter your conversation with phrases such as 'G'day', 'strewth', 'fair dinkum', 'barbie', 'arvo' and 'ripper'.
- Dress as your favourite Australian (Dennis Lillee, Skippy, Kylie, Ned Kelly, Paul Hogan, Nick Cave, Kev 'Bloody' Wilson etc)
- Culturally appropriate any one of a number of Aussie stereotypes (Cork hat, references to criminality, carrying boomerang, being upside down etc)
- Sign the logbook (Optional)
- Hate the fact that the Queen is still Head of State
- Eat and drink (Also optional to attend this event; please place and pay for your own orders when you arrive)
The souvenir will automatically be added to your profile when you log this event
Please note that because the pub wanted a £50 per table deposit, I have not booked any tables! However, I was assured by the staff that it tends not to be busy at 5pm on Saturday so I'll get there early to try and grab a couple of tables together. It might be standing room only though, I'm afraid!
