This cache is to commemorate the many years that the Lakeside Minature Railway has run along the Marine Lake first time taking to the track in May 1911.
In its hey day the train used to link Pleasureland with Happy Land which was a smaller fun fare for younger children it also bypassed the Roller Rink and the Outdoor Sea Bathing Lake. It's popularity has remained, but two shopping estates, pubs and a cafe replace the other ammenities. For the sites to be developed a new seawall had to be built.
In 1990 The Liverpool Band 'The Farm' filmed their video for Groovy Train at Pleasureland and the Lakeside Minature Railway with Brookside actor Bill Dean. See Link below :-

The cache is situated in a heavily populated area for Muggles during the summer months, although during the summer your searching will somewhat be under tree cover. Please approach area with stealth.
