(This is a puzzle cache, the final is not at the listed coordinates but you will start your journey at the listed coordinates.) I am captivated by public art. The 12 locations of this puzzle cache will take you to 12 sculptures around Victoria. The series of sculptures is called "The Hands of Time" and was installed to celebrate Victoria's 150th anniversary of incorporation in 2012. Its a 12-part series of bronze sculptures by BC artist Crystal Przybille. Each sculpture honours a part of Victoria's history. To find the cache you must visit the 12 locations and answer the questions on site to solve for N 4A BC.DEF W 12G HI.JKL
The sculptures are: "Carving a canoe paddle" (below), "Holding a railway spike", "Performing with a fan", "Carrying Point blankets", "Carrying books", "Holding binoculars", "Tying a rope to a mooring", "Panning for gold", "Raising a tea cup", "Holding a mirror", "Cupping Dogwood blossoms", and "Digging Camus". (Note: sadly "Digging Camas" has already been vandalized.) The three-dimensional hands vary in culture, age and gender, and silently convey eras and stories of Victoria. I hope you will enjoy finding the sculptures as much as I did.
