This is a memorable spot for the Hearst Family of California. George and Phoebe Hearst purchased land near here to avoid the fog and cold of the summers in San Francisco and later built the "La Hacienda del Pozo de Verona". The Hearst Family frequently entertained at the Hacienda resulting in the Western Pacific railroad building the "Verona Station" stop in the valley so guests could easly visit. The Verona Bridge was installed in 1890 to connect the station to the estate. Later replaced in 1941 by the present bridge, now a pedestrian walkway.
The cache is placed attractively nearby.
