Större hackspett (Dendrocopos major) är en fågelart inom familjen hackspettar (Picidae). Den förekommer i Europa, norra Afrika och norra Asien och merparten av världspopulationen är stannfåglar förutom de som häckar i den kallaste nordligaste delarna av utbredningsområdet.
