It has been a long time since I first encountered LClan searching for one of his beginning cache finds along the Willowfork Nature Trail. That encounter resulted in a friendship that led to many geobiking adventures and a love/hate relationship with puzzle caches.
So as LClan makes his way to number 3000 cache find, it is appropriate to provide him a puzzle somewhat tailored to his interest in logic and mathematical puzzles.
So here’s the puzzle to solve:
N 1 19° 2 7 . 8 8 16 W 19 5° 2 16 . 8 16 3
Related to this puzzle is an interesting math conjecture. Pick any positive whole number. If the number is even, divide by two to get a new number. But if the number you picked is odd, multiply it by three and add one to generate an even number. Repeat the steps until you get an end result. If LClan can solve this puzzle and prove the end result he will receive at least $500 and as much as a Millennium Prize that may amount to $1,000,000. Without the proof, he gets just a FTF and a measly dollar.
HINTS: Watch your steps carefully as there may be dog poop.
