Il parco Argelati è un piccolo parco, poco frequentato e senza nessuna attrattiva, tra due parchi più grandi, il parco Baden-Powell e il parco Segantini.
Questo piccolo parchetto però resiste alle minacce del cemento.
La storia è lunga, e risale al 2003 quando l'amministrazione comunale concesse in uso per 60 anni alla società sportiva Ambrosiana Calcio l'uso dell'area per attività sportive, con divieto di utilizzo a scopi commerciali. Nel 2005 l'Ambrosiana Calcio ha presentato un progetto che comprendeva 2 campi da calcetto ed una palestra. Ma ora il progetto è stato fortemente rivisto e ripresentato, includendo un centro fitness/wellnes, composto da un edificio di 3 piani alto 15 metri, 2 campi da calcetto, vasche coperte e scoperte, campi da pallavolo e ampio parcheggio. Il tutto con un investimento di 3 milioni di euro. Difficile credere che dietro a un simile progetto vi sia una società dilettantistica e non una multinazionale.
Il quartiere in protesta fa firmare petizioni a tutto andare e il Consiglio di Zona 6 ha votato contro il progetto, sia perché le rilevanti modifiche non sono state sottoposte, a suo tempo, al parere del Consiglio stesso, sia perché l'impatto ambientale sull'area sarebbe elevato. Infatti, nel nuovo piano volumetrico non sono evidenziate opere di mitigazione ambientale che riportino l'area al suo naturale aspetto a giardino. Senza contare poi l'abbattimento dei numerosi alberi e la cementificazione di aree verdi. Inoltre, sottolinea il Consiglio di Zona, il lotto interessato alla trasformazione si trova all'interno di uno dei raggi verdi R5 dei Navigli (tracciato della cintura vede che collega, come un anello, i parchi esterni della città, tra cui il Parco Sud) e rappresenta l'area di connessione tra il Parco Segantini e il Parco Baden Powell.

But now the project has been heavily revised and re-presented, including a fitness / wellnes center, consisting of a 15-storey 3-storey building, 2 soccer fields, indoor and outdoor pools, volleyball courts and ample parking. All with an investment of 3 million euros. It is hard to believe that behind such a project there is an amateur society and not a multinational company.
The district in protest makes petitions to go all the way and the Zone 6 Council voted against the project, both because the relevant changes have not been submitted, in its time, to the opinion of the Council itself, both because the environmental impact on area would be high. In fact, in the new volumetric plan there are no environmental mitigation works that bring the area back to its natural garden appearance. Not to mention the demolition of numerous trees and the consolidation of green areas. Moreover, underlines the Zone Council, the lot involved in the transformation is located inside one of the R5 green rays of the Navigli (belt track sees that connects, like a ring, the external parks of the city, including the South Park) It is the connection area between the Segantini Park and the Baden Powell Park.
