We love public art! Completed in 2003, this retaining wall is public artwork created by Twyla Arthur. It is a tile and stone mosaic that incorporates memorabilia from area residents. Take a second to see some of the neat little details in the wall.
On the nearby underpass you'll find "Canopy" by San Antonio artist Joey Fauerso. The mural transforms the underpass into a cool grove of Cypress trees that can be found lining nearby San Pedro Springs. The mural uses a palette of greens and blues to depict the flora, fauna, and native birds of South Texas populating a dense forest. The hand painted mural incorporates student observations from nearby Agnes Cotton Academy, taken from an artist-led nature observation workshop with the fourth and seventh grade classes. The design allows visitors to experience the mural through multiple viewings and invites viewers to literally ‘find’ themselves in the forest.
