[RO] Cetatea dacică Costești - Blidaru este una dintre cele șase fortărețe dacice din Munții Orăștiei care fac parte din patrimoniul mondial UNESCO din România. Cetatea a fost construită în secolul I î.Hr. cu scop de protecție împotriva cuceririi romane. Se găsește lângă satul Costești, comuna Orăștioara de Sus din județul Hunedoara.
Situată pe culmea Blidarului (750 m), este cel mai puternic complex fortificat din această zonă, fiind întins pe un platou de aproape 6000 mp. Străjuind malul stâng al apei Grădiștei, la fel ca și cetatea Costești, fortificația de la Blidaru cuprinde de fapt două incinte, unite între ele, având împreună șase turnuri puternice.
Prima cetate, ce ocupă platoul superior al dealului, are o formă trapezoidală, fiind prevăzută cu patru turnuri exterioare, plasate pe colțuri. Potrivit unei ingenioase rigori de arhitectonică militară, intrarea se făcea prin turnul I, astfel conceput încât să împiedice desfășurarea forțelor inamicului, silindu-l să cotească spre dreapta și să-și expună flancul loviturilor. În interior se păstrează urmele unui turn-locuință.
Spre vest de prima cetate a fost construită apoi cetatea a doua, având forma pentagonală.
[EN] The Dacian fortress Costesti - Blidaru is one of the six fortifications of the Orăştie Mountains that are part of the UNESCO World Heritage in Romania. The fortress was built in the 1st century BC. with the purpose of protecting against the Roman conquest. It is located near Costeşti village, Orăştioara de Sus commune in Hunedoara county.
Situated on the top of Blidar (750 m), it is the most powerful fortified complex in this area, being spread over a plateau of nearly 6,000 sq m. Strengthening the left bank of the Grădiştei water, as well as the fortress of Costeşti, the Blidaru fortress actually comprises two enclosures joined together, having six strong towers together.
The first fortress, occupying the upper plateau of the hill, has a trapezoidal shape, provided with four outer towers, placed on the corners. According to an ingenious military architectural rigidity, the entrance was made through the Tower I, designed to prevent the enemy's forces from moving, pushing him to the right and exposing the flank of the blows.
Inside the traces of a tower-dwelling are preserved.
