DNF

These are a couple of famous DNFs.

Franklin's lost expedition was a British voyage of Arctic exploration led by Captain Sir John Franklin that departed England in 1845 aboard two ships. The expedition search for but DNF’d the Northwest Passage. The expedition was lost until one of the ships was found in 2014. The two ships were:

  1. The HMS Beechey and the HMS Terror: N53 29.956
  2. The HMS Terror and the HMS Erebus: N53 30.162
  3. The HMS Erebus and the HMS Beechey: N53 30.124

Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 was a scheduled international passenger flight that disappeared on March 8, 2014 while flying from Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Malaysia, to its destination, Beijing Capital International Airport in China. Despite a comprehensive survey of 120,000 km2 of sea floor about 1,800 km south-west of Perth, Western Australia conducted from October 2014 to January 2017, the bulk of the airplane was DNF’d. The registration of the plane was:

  1. RL-201: W113 21.257
  2. LZ 129: W113 20.692
  3. 9M-MRO: W113 22.166

Good karma for identifying the other two registrations.
