This is an easy, family friendly night cache. Winter friendly (wear boots). Bring flashlight.
Log only, BYOP.


You will need a flashlight. An LED or Maglite is best. Good boots are recommended for winter.

You will be walking just under .2 miles (approximately 1,000 feet) away from your vehicle to sign the easily located log.

This multi cache is located in a safe area, popular with neighbors for walking their dogs. I know this area very well and have walked it with our own child at night and am confident that this is a perfect spot for a child-friendly night cache. I think you will find the experience with your children safe, and enjoyable.

Take time to observe and enjoy the night time activity of trains in the nearby railroad yard and the view of the lights of North Minneapolis across the river. The view is available during the winter months when the leaves are off the trees, but they have grown so much now that summer viewing is limited, if any. Summer trail is more 'spooky' though.

Please note that this is a sign only log and make sure you bring a pen or pencil. To quote SeniorGoat "If you don't sign the log, you didn't find it and your log will be deleted."

PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE TRACKABLES! The two previous caches in this area have been muggled by children who play here in the summer and trackables have been lost.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Park at noted spot

Start at listed coordinates where you will see reflective tape on a post. The lights from the railroad yard can be very bright here, but when shining a flashlight at EYE LEVEL the tacks will reflect brightly back at you.

Head north along the path, being cautious of exposed roots which may trip in the wooded area(tall folk, watch your head in areas). Look for reflectors on trees and telephone poles until you find the pole with the red reflector, and an orange reflective strip on the yellow pole line. Look around for the orange reflective tape (not on the pole) which is where the cache is hidden. No digging in snow will be necessary.

***!Don't forget to re-hide cache well so daytime muggles won't catch sight of it!***
