Members of Team IDC have been driving past this Historic Location for many years and finally stopped by to visit it and place a cache. The cache is in the parking area and NOT, ON or INSIDE the fence. With all due respect, NO NIGHT CACHING!! DO NOT tear anything up looking for the container. Please follow the Geocaching guidelines, Replace the container as/where found.
Here is a bit of information about this secluded location. To get back to the cemetery off SR 200, it is a Florida dirt single lane road. The cemetery area has a sign stating Security Cameras are in use.
First United Methodist Church, Dunnellon, Florida has owned the Cedar Grove Church property since 1860 when Cedar Grove was a mission church. The cemetery most likely started shortly thereafter.
The church stills stands but is no longer in use. The cemetery is virtually full, however, occasionally a new burial occurs by descendants who have family members buried there. The cemetery is kept in very good condition. There are Military Veterans buried in this cemetery.
When we were there, several people arrived with cameras to take pictures of this Historic Location.
