Looking at my caching karma recently, combined with my recent (thanks to Geocaching!) love of exploring all the Bay Area trails compelled me to give back. So I'm creating this Johnny Appleseed series, sprinkling caches all along the trails closest to home.
This cache is in Fremont Older on the Toyon Trail near the intersection with the Bay View Trail. As a matter of fact, there was a gate closed on this day closing the Toyon to horses and bicycles, due to wet weather making the trails too muddy for non-bipeds. There is a local maximum hillock just nearby, but I couldn't find a way to climb it, though there is a very old sign on the north end that says trail closed. Log is a tight fit in the cache container, hopefully no TOTT is needed but be prepared.
