The Margaret Passmore Theatre (Upper Chine School) This is the former site of the Upper Chine School. The school was opened in 1914 and was a day and boarding school for girls between the ages of 7 and 18. The 33 acre site of the school grounds had 12 buildings, a swimming pool, a tennis court and its own chapel, as well as a theatre which stood just up from the facing road. (Just in front of the cache location). The school merged in 1994 with Ryde School and the site finanly closed in 1999.
The "Margaret Passmore" Theatre was opened in 1977 to celebrate the Queen's Silver Jubilee, being named after a former teacher at Upper Chine School. After the closure of the school in 1999, the theatre saw some life as a community theatre, but after much decline the building was finally demolished in 2008/2009.

This is a camouflaged cache hidden about 1m up from the ground. Please take care when replacing to make sure it is well hidden.
