The fourth event of our epic journey from John O'Groats to Land's End......in a Trabant
Steve & I (fly2live2fly) are on a journey from John O’Groats to Land’s End in his Trabant #worstcarevermade to raise money for charity.
But we’re also avid geocachers, so what better than to take the opportunity to meet other cachers on our way.
Therefore we’re hosting an event in The Shire Horse, Killingworth
Please drop by to have a drink and/or some food and a chat with us about our trip
The event will be from 7pm to 9pm, then the next morning we'll be pointing the car south and continuing on our adventure in a puff of blue smoke, accompanied by the very distinctive sound of the 600cc, 2-stroke engine under the bonnet.
The event is booked in the name of Trabbi Travels
The Trabant will be parked outside, you can’t miss it, it’s pale blue and is trackable, look for the logo on the back window
And for those of you who haven't heard of a Trabant - they were made in their millions in communist East Germany during the time of the Berlin Wall - the only car you could buy - and then abandoned in their thousands after the wall came down in November 1989 and the East Germans realised they could have a VW instead. Now there are only a few still running, ours was made in 1990, one of the last ones off the production line before the factory closed for good.
We look forward to meeting new faces and adding to our ever growing list of caching friends. And if you've got any trackables that want to go south, bring them along.
