This geocache is NOT a 30sec park n grab geocache. There are additional logging requirements which may take a little longer to complete.
The Gateway to the Illawarra has long been a vantage point perched on top of the Illawarra escarpment at Bulli Tops. From here the views are spectacular up and down the coastline. From the coastal living of the northern suburbs through to the urban sprawl and business district of Wollongong CBD, then southwards onto the heavy industrial area of the steel making and shipping in Port Kembla, which finally gives way to the majestic south coast and beyond.

Over time the Southern gateway has undergone many changes, from the early years when it was an essential fuel stop for cars and trucks travelling south to its current architectural and multicultural design, but one thing that’s never changed is the amazing views.
The current infrastructure is where you'll find this cache. Simply stop, revive and pop inside. The cache is being looked after by the staff. The information centre is open Mon-Fri from 9am-5pm, Sat, Sun & Public Holidays 10am-3pm. Closed Christmas Day. The friendly staff will be more than happy to tell you a little about the area.

The letterbox hybrid cache contains a rubber stamp and a logbook. Feel free to stamp your own logbook with the cache stamp and/or stamp our logbook with your rubber stamp. In addition, there are some optional additional logging requirements which are a bit of fun. You need to sit 'n' draw your most artistic impression (as I've tried to do) of the magnificent Illawarra views. We've provided a large logbook and colouring pencils to decorate your own personal page. Be creative and artistic with your drawing of the view, but once you're done please sign and date your individual piece of artwork. You might like to photograph your masterpiece and include it in your online log.
We hope you take the time to enjoy this twist on letterbox caching.
