Geocache Description:

26 January, Australia Day is the official National Day of Australia. Celebrated annually on 26 January, it marks the anniversary of the 1788 arrival of the First Fleet of British ships at Port Jackson, New South Wales and the raising of the Flag of Great Britain at Sydney Cove by Governor Arthur Phillip.

Check to see how Aussies celebrate Australia Day:

Celebrate Australia Day like an Aussie:

1. Wear some green and gold. These colours symbolise Australia, so pull out anything in these colours and wear them with pride. Ladies you could even wear a green and gold headband or hair tie, maybe some mis-matched green and gold socks. a scarf or a pair of earrings.

2. Fire up the barbie; Throw on some snags (sausages) & a couple of T-bones. Or try some hindooro, kangaroo steaks

3. Crack open a slab. (A carton of 24 cans of beer) try a Coopers or a Boag's.

4. Attempt a Tim-Tam (Australia's favorite chocolate biscuit)

5. Have a pav. ( A Pavlova is a big merangue topped with cream and fresh fruit.)

6. Finish the day with an Aussie film--- maybe Crocodile Dundee

Two travel bugs have been placed in the cache to get it started. It is well stocked with SWAG.

A few blackberry vines are near. Being careful now is OK. Maybe in summer it will be more bothersome.

P.S.: This is now part of a series to celebrate days that important to the history of various nations.
