Atenção! Antes de procurar a cache, por favor, leia os trechos abaixo:
O esconderijo desta cache está situado em uma área turística de praia. Além disso, o local do esconderijo (o Mirante) é naturalmente um local onde há uma concentração muito alta de Muggles, que podem vir a ocupar boa parte da estrutura por vários minutos.
Assim, pedimos que você tenha MUITO CUIDADO ao procurar a cache, especialmente no período da alta estação (durante o verão, em época de férias, final de ano e carnaval).
Ao encontrar a cache (e também, ao retorná-la de volta ao seu esconderijo), aconselhamos que os geocachers sejam extremamente discretos em suas buscas em todos os momentos, para não serem surpreendidos por Muggles locais, que poderiam acabar pondo em risco a existência da cache.
Pedimos também especial atenção ao seguinte detalhe: como a cache está posicionada em um ponto muito específico do esconderijo, é muito importante que os geocachers devolvam a cache precisamente à este mesmo ponto. Se ela for recolocada em um ponto diferente, a existência da mesma poderá estar comprometida...
Esta é uma geocache localizada em um dos pontos turísticos mais conhecidos da cidade: a Lagoa de Iriry.
A LAGOA DE IRIRY
A Lagoa de Iriry é uma das Unidades de Conservação existentes na cidade ("Área de Proteção Ambiental da Lagoa do Iriry"). Ela está relativamente próxima do Emissário Submarino da Praia de Costazul, e é conhecida por moradores e turistas pelo apelido de "Lagoa da coca-cola", devido à cor de suas águas escuras, que apresentam grandes quantidades de iodo.

A coloração da água tem a ver com a grande concentração de ácidos dissolvidos, resultantes da decomposição incompleta das folhas e galhos mortos que caem naturalmente das plantas na bacia de drenagem da lagoa, e que são parcialmente decompostas por fungos e bactérias do solo.
Estes ácidos são pouco utilizados pelos organismos vivos que habitam a lagoa, e o acúmulo destas substâncias acaba não permitindo a penetração da luz na água, o que provoca a sua aparência escura. Mas apesar da coloração da água, a lagoa é propícia ao banho.

Há ainda uma faixa de areia, de cerca de 30 metros, que separa a Lagoa do mar, o que torna possível o banho alternado em água doce e salgada. Esta proximidade com o mar permite a ocorrência de um fenômeno natural curioso: o rompimento natural da Lagoa.
A explicação é que, em períodos bastante chuvosos, o excesso de chuva pode acabar por fazer a água da lagoa transbordar a faixa de areia, e com isso, a água tende a fluir em direção ao mar.
Esta situação permanece assim por alguns dias, até que a ação da maré acabe por depositar novos sedimentos sobre a antiga faixa de areia. Isso permite a renovação da água da lagoa, e finalmente, o fechamento do canal temporário entre a lagoa e o mar.

A Lagoa é um dos locais mais procurados para o banho, e para a prática de esportes, como stand-up paddle e kitesurf. Além disso, em seu entorno há uma grande infraestrutura existente, que oferece aos visitantes uma área de playground (parque de crianças), quiosques, trilhas, estruturas para exercícios físicos, e um Mirante com cerca de 20 metros de altura, que possibilita a visão da paisagem da cidade, da lagoa, do mar, da vegetação e dos morros ao redor.
E é justamente no Mirante da Lagoa que está escondida mais uma das geocaches da cidade de Rio das Ostras.
O MIRANTE
O Mirante da Lagoa de Iriry é uma torre de madeira com 20 metros de altura, dividido em "andares" (platôs) por alguns lances de escada. Para encontrar a cache, é preciso que os geocachers sejam bastante observadores, e que estejam atentos aos detalhes da estrutura da torre (de forma discreta, pois quase sempre há algum Muggle subindo ou descendo escadas, ou famílias de Muggles observando outros do chão...
Aviso: Apesar do local exato do esconderijo da cache ser acessível aos geocachers, pode ser que alguns não consigam alcançá-lo facilmente. Neste caso, pode ser interessante contar com a ajuda de algum outro geocacher ou amigo Muggle de confiança.
Esta cache realmente está muito bem guardada, então não desista de procurá-la!

This cache's hideout is situated in a tourist beach area. In addition, the hideout site (the Belvedere) naturally tends to be a very crowded place, with a high concentration of Muggles, which may occupy many areas of the structure for several minutes. So we ask you to be VERY careful when searching for this cache, especially during high season (during summer, holiday season, the end of the year, and carnival time).
When finding the cache (and also, when returning it back to its hiding place), we advise geocachers to be extremely discreet in their searches at all times so as not to be surprised by local Muggles who could endanger the existence of this cache.
We kindly ask for your attention to the following detail: as the cache stands still at a very specific point of its hideout, it is very important that geocachers return the cache precisely to this very spot. If the cache is returned to a different point, its very existence can be jeopardized.
This is a geocache located in one of the most known tourist spots of the city: The Iriry Lagoon.
THE IRIRY LAGOON
The Iriry Lagoon is one of the Conservation Units of the city ("Iriry Lagoon's Environmental Protection Area"). It is relatively close to the Undersea Outfall of Costazul Beach, and is known by the locals and the tourists by the nickname "Coke Lagoon" due to the color of its dark waters, which present large amounts of iodine.

The color of the waters are related to the high concentration of dissolved acids, products of the incomplete decomposition of dead leaves and dead branches that fall down from the plants in the lagoon drainage basin, and which are partially decomposed by fungi and bacteria of the soil.
These acids are rarely used by the living organisms that inhabit the lagoon, and the accumulation of these substances prevents the penetration of light into the water, which results in its dark appearance. But despite the color of the water, the lagoon is suitable for bathing.

There is also a strip of sand, which is about 30 meters, that separates the Lagoon from the sea. That allows one to experience alternating baths, between fresh and salt water. Also, this proximity to the sea allows the occurrence of a curious natural phenomenon: the natural disruption of the Lagoon.
In very rainy periods, too much rain can end up making the lagoon water overflow the sand strip, which causes the water to flow towards the sea.
This situation remains like that for a few days, until the action of the tide finally deposits new sediments on the old sand strip. This allows the renovation of the lagoon water, and finally, the closing of the temporary canal between the lagoon and the sea.

The Lagoon is one of the most sought places for bathing, and for practicing sports, such as stand-up paddle and kite surfing. In addition, in its surroundings there is a large infrastructure, which offers visitors a playground (for children), kiosks, trails, structures for physical exercises, and a Belvedere of about 20 meters high that allows the sightseeing of the city landscape, the lagoon, the sea, the vegetation and the surrounding hills.
And it is precisely in the Iriry Lagoon's Belvedere that another of the geocaches of the city of Rio das Ostras is hidden.
THE BELVEDERE
The Iriry Lagoon's Belvedere is a 20-meter high wooden tower, divided into "floors" (plateaus) by a few flights of stairs. To find the cache, geocachers need to be very observant, and also aware of the details of the tower structure (discreetly, as there is not uncommon the presence of some Muggles going up or down the stairs, or Muggle families watching others from the ground...

Notice: Warning: Although the exact location of this cache is accessible to geocachers, some may find it hard to reach the spot. In this case, it may be interesting to have the help of some other reliable geocacher or Muggle friend. Count with them, go teamwork, and you'll probably be able to reach it nicely.
