The infamous Chicken Ranch – which reached international renown through music, musical, and film – stood only a couple hundred feet south of these coordinates. In business for nearly 130 years, it operated at this location from 1915 until its permanent closure in 1973. As a lifelong ZZ Top fan, I've known about this place since I was a child.
