The Anaconda Mountain Bike Track winds its way down from Breeze Col on the Godley Head Road, to Taylor's Mistake Beach. Braves walkers and joggers often share this tack with the bike riders, but it is a pretty dangerous occupation, as a bike flying downhill around those bends is quite a sight to see. Recently, DOC have built a walking track, that is much easier to negotiate for those on foot. I have chosen to call it the walking Anaconda! You can reach the cache by either parking at the Breeze Col carpark, on the Godley Head Road and walking down the track ( about 400 metres), or you can park at Taylor's Mistake Beach and walk up. If you park at Breeze Col, be aware that the first 350m ( approximately) is shared with mountain bike riders who have right of way and can be travelling at some speed. There is good visibility, so you should see them approaching. When you get to around the 350m mark, the tracks divide, take the wider, new track that drops off to the right. If you walk up from Taylor's Mistake, you will see the new track branching off to the right at the top of the first uphill section. If you are feeling energetic, you could loop all the way around Godley Head, grabbing other caches along the way.
The cache is hidden up on the rocky outcrop, between the Anaconda Bike track and the walking track, it is a small black pill bottle. Please bring your own pen.
Dogs must be on leads in this area as there are sheep about. Be careful with children as it is now hidden at the top due to muggle activity!
