Many towns large & small have memorials that were erected to honor their military veterns. Curwensville is no exception. Curwensville has a bronze statue of a soldier atop a sandstone base honoring those residents that served during WWI. The expression of his face has always amazed me. In recent years the town pulled together to raise the funds needed to erect a beautiful black granite memorial remembering those who served in the Civil War's Bucktail Regiment. This memorial also features a sandstone wall built by a local craftsman who donated many of his retirement years volunteering to create beautiful stone structures throughout Clearfield County. Pleae visit these wonderful landmarks. This area is open and stealth is required, especially when funerals are being conducted across the street.

For those that have been to this cache or location in the past, and those new to the area, you will now find a new memorial in this little park. It is in honor of those from our area that served during World War II. The wall is made from sandstone quarried somewhere around five miles from this location.
