This is a popular area for dog walkers and a favourite spot for our two geo-hounds, after whom the cache is named. This cache is not accessible by wheelchair. In winter the paths may be muddy. Permission to place this cache has been obtained from Rory Welan, Manager, Scrabo Country Park.
Scrabo Country Park
Scrabo Country Park is centred at the top of Scrabo Hill near Newtownards and boasts incredible views over Strangford Lough and the surrounding countryside. There are plenty of paths through the fine beech woodlands of Killynether Wood and around the disused quarries allowing visitors many opportunities to enjoy the quiet and peaceful countryside. There are two car parks and two possible routes to Ground Zero. The lower route is slightly easier.
The cache is at the posted coordinates where there is an excellent view. See owner’s photographs.
The cache is a medium sized tabloc box, in a camo bag, with a log, pencil and a FTF prize. There is room for swaps and Trackables.
When replacing the cache please ensure that you put it back EXACTLY where you found it.
