This home was built by Mr. and Mrs. Arnold (Cape) Cranton in 1909. Mr. Cranton owned a confectionary shop in downtown Pine City where he sold fruit, nuts, cigars, and tobacco.
After finding this cache from the past, take some time to read (or re-read) about another house with some color. The delightful book Anne of Green Gables was written just one year before this house was built. The book is an absolute treasure.
