 La Reserva Natural de la Garganta de los Infiernos es un entorno natural de extraordinaria belleza, localizado en el Valle del Jerte y en el que es posible disfrutar de una fauna y flora propias del territorio o de un relajante baño en las 13 pisicinas naturales encadenadas de Los Pilones, conocidas como “Marmitas de gigante”, y que constituyen grandes depresiones circulares, formadas de modo natural en las rocas del fondo del río.
Las formas de Los Pilones de La Garganta de Los Infiernos y las conocidas formas redondeadas que empleaba Dalí en su arquitectura son muy parecidas, ¿Se inspiraría aquí en alguna de sus visitas?.

The Natural Reserve of the Garganta de los Infiernos is a natural environment of extraordinary beauty, located in the Valle del Jerte and where it is possible to enjoy the flora and fauna typical of the territory or a relaxing bath in the 13 natural swimming pools chained "Los Pilones", known as potholes, and which constitute large circular depressions, formed naturally in the rocks of the river bottom.
The shapes of "Los Pilones" and the well-known rounded shapes used by Dalí in his architecture are very similar, were they inspired by his visits here?.

Las marmitas de gigante o kettle son una concavidad casi circular formada en los cauces de los ríos por la acción giratoria de algunos fragmentos de rocas duras cuando son arrastrados por la corriente y caen en algún hueco en el fondo del cauce, por lo que al girar por el movimiento de las aguas va profundizando y redondeando tal concavidad. La dureza de los fragmentos tiene que ser similar o mayor que la de la roca en la que se forma la concavidad, aunque muchas veces se trata de fragmentos de la misma roca.

The potholes or kettle is a hollow drive almost formed in riverbeds by the rotating action of some fragments of hard rock when they are washed away and fall into a hole in the bottom of the channel, so that turning by movement of the waters and rounding deepens such concavity.
The hardness of the fragments must be equal or greater than the rock in which the concavity is formed, but often is the rock fragments.

Las marmitas de gigante tienen diferentes grados de maduración en función de su erosión, las marmitas tipo A son las iniciales y se pueden encontrar junto con las tipo B como formas secundarias dentro de las marmitas más evolucionadas de tipo E y F.
Las formas de tipo D, E y F son las que alcanzan mayores tamaños.
También existen marmitas tipo D y E con los bordes poco erosionados y una gran profundidad.

The potholes have different degrees of maturation depending on their erosion, type A kettles are the initial ones and can be found along with type B as secondary forms within the most evolved type E and F kettles.
The forms of type D, E and F are those that reach larger sizes.
There are also type D and E kettles with little eroded edges and great depth.

-. En el Wp del caché, en la parte derecha de la pasarela tenemos una marmita, ¿que tipo de marmita es, A,B,C,D,E,F? ¿por qué? ¿qué anchura y profundidad tiene?
-. En el Wp del caché, en la parte izquierda de la pasarela podrás ver tres marmitas en la misma roca ¿dos arriba y otra con un árbol? ¿Qué tipo de marmitas son cada una?
2º [Opcional] Subir una foto desde el lugar con vuestro GPS.
