St Ewe Village Hall
The village hall was once the village school and the substantial house next door to it was the School House.
The hall has been the centre of village activities for many years but before 2000 the facilities were pretty basic and visitors had to be pretty courageous to be prepared to use the toilet facilities which were outside, across a windswept playground and unlit!!
An enthusiastic group got together and applied for a Millenium Grant to refurbish the village hall. A very fine job was made of the refurbishment and the hall re-opened with modern indoor plumbing, a fully fitted kitchen, heating and an excellent multi-purpose main room with new flooring and a performance area.
The hall continues to be the centre of many activities of which the most famous is the annual Country Fair which takes place in August and attracts hundreds of visitors.
