This weekend I went to the Acatenango volcano. From here you have a great view to the "Volcán de Fuego" one of the most active volcanoes from Guatemala. That was an amazing trip and a beautiful view from there.
I will go there again and want to share this nice place with you.
Take enoug water and warm clothes with you, the top of the vulcano is at almost 4000 meters. It is very very cold there.
I will wait for you on Thursday 15th of February 2018 at 3:00 pm for minumum half an hour.
If you want you can book tours in a travel agency with a group or an own guide, for example from Antigua. It´s up to you. There are one and two day tours, you can rent equipment (for example a tent) or bring your own. Let me know if you need some informations.
I know that the Event is not diffycult 1 but the Groundspeak Guidelines says that Events must have a D1 rating. You have to walk for 5-8 hours to get from the street/car park at N 14° 32.200 W 090° 53.000 to the top. The duration of the walk depends on yoour personal condition and health.
The elevation here is ~ 2400 meters.
