While out-and-about on a rather cold and windy Sunday afternoon in the great state of Nebraska, came across this cemetery that was empty geocache-wise. Think there used to be a cache hidden here at one time or another, really do not remember.
Anyway, while trying to come up with a "catchy" name for this location, was remembering about all my geocache finds in cemeteries in the great states of Colorado, Ohio, Indiana, and a few others. Anyone that has geocached in cemeteries in those states may have come across a series by the name of, "Colorado Spirit Quest" or "Indiana Spirit Quest".
Well, decided to adopt the "Spirit Quest" portion and make my very own, " Nebraska Spirit Quest". This is the 1st in that series.
In order to get to this location, probably easiest route would be to travel north/south on NE HWY 99 between the towns of Burchard, NE/Summerfield, KS. Turn west at the coordinates for the access road and follow the road into the cemetery. Cache is placed very close to a lone Civil War Veteran (1st Louisiana Infantry Regiment) resting place.
Not very many places to hide something in this cemetery, so BE CAREFUL how you retrieve/return this cache container for you WILL BE reaching over a barb wire fence - you have been warned!! Also, have raised D/T ratings just a tad for safety considerations and the reason for the DANGER icon in the ATTRIBUTES information box.
Remember that this is a cemetery and please observe any/all rules/regulations that may be posted and that we all have read on other page write-ups concerning these types of locations.
