Geocache Description:

I decided to plant a geocache near this cemetery to honour and remember my ancestors from several generations ago , who are buried here .

Their grave is a couple of rows above the Flagpole , John and Anne Isbister had 9 children ,,,the last 2 were born here .

They migrated here in 1862 on the ship " Clairmont ". They were the 7th family in the village .

The flagpole ,which has been placed in the cemetery to mark where the original Settlers Church once stood ., was originally on the grounds of the family home , further up the hill ..

If you have not been before ; and have some time ; the Matakohe Kauri Museum is well worth looking through .

The cache is not near any graves ,,,, but very close to the Coates Memorial Church .
