Kapel cache

Dit gebouw staat nabij de plek waar eertijds de oude kerk van Nistelrode uit de 13de eeuw stond. Het kerkgebouw werd in 1840 afgebroken, de toren in 1889.
Het ontwerp is van kunstenaar Henk Eikenaar en de kapel is gebouwd door de gildebroeders van Nistelrode.

In de kapel staan beelden van de gilden heiligen Sint Anthonius Abt en Sint Catharina vervaardigd door de heer Eikenaar. Het Lambertusbeeld, parochieheilige van Nistelrode, is van de hand van kunstenaar Hans van der Pennen.
In het front van de kapel staat als middelpunt van de ontmoetingsplaats de ‘Gildetafel’ welke ontworpen is door kunstenaar Jeroen Doorenweerd.

Links staat het monument ‘Poppy’, een herinnering aan de vliegeniers van geallieerde vliegtuigen die hier tot 18 april opstegen om hun missie te vervullen. Velen van hen keerden niet terug. Het kunstwerk staat op het einde van de runway van het vliegveld en is gemaakt door kunstenares Mieke Schouten. ‘Poppy’ (klaproos) is het Britse symbool voor slachtoffers in oorlogsconflicten.

De kapel is dagelijks open van 09.00 to 20.00 uur.

This building is located near the place where formerly the old church of Nistelrode from the 13th century stood. The church building was demolished in 1840, the tower in 1889.
The design was created by artist Henk Eikenaar and the chapel was built by the guild brothers of Nistelrode.

The chapel contains statues of the guild saints Saint Anthonius Abbot and Saint Catherine made by Mr. Eikenaar. The Lambertus statue, parish saint of Nistelrode, is created by artist Hans van der Pennen.
In the front of the chapel is the center of the meeting place the 'Guild Table' located which was designed by artist Jeroen Doorenweerd.

On the left side of the chapel is the monument 'Poppy' placed, in memory of the airmen of allied planes that took flight here until April 18th to fulfill their mission. Many of them did not return. The artwork is located at the end of the runway of the airport’s runway and was made by artist Mieke Schouten. Poppy is the British symbol which represents the victims in conflicts of war.

The chapel is daily open from 09.00 to 20.00 hours.
