Geocache Description:


 
Having had some very successful citos in the community garden we are now lucky to have the opportunity to work with Mered Jones, Local Nature Reserve Project and Volunteers Officer.
 
The day will start at 10am and finish at 2pm but you don't have to stay the whole time.  It is recommended that you bring wellies and gardening gloves. Please do log a will attend as I will need to keep Mered up to date with numbers so that adequate supervision is available.
 
 
Water diversion Project - Restoring Culvert and creating ponds.  the rough outline of the plan for is  
 
  • Create drainage  across a path - digging trench , laying land drain  and covering with pea shingle to divert water of the path in to the ditch 
  • Further down the hill more land drainage to be laid , with pre dug ditch in place. drain and pea thing to be added.
  • excavating old silted up culvert - and creating ponds and dead hedges to prevent dogs and children entering at will.   
  • Clearing the ditch and cutting back bramble along ditch. 

 

There is parking available in the car park past the cafe and on surrounding roads. It is also well serviced by public transport.
