Geocache Description:

I held events to celebrate both 1500 and 1600 consecutive days of caching, but didn't get organised in time to do a 1700 one. So I am making up for that by doing a 1750 celebration instead! This is a picnic gathering (bring your own food). Logbook will be available from 11:00-12:00 for sure, and might be a bit longer as well, but no guarantees.

Otari Wilton Bush is one of the most beautiful places in Wellington, and there is both a fair amount of sun as well as shade. This gathering is in the Troup Picnic Area, where there is also shelter and toilets. If it is a hot day feel free to bring your togs and go for a dip. There are lots of caches in Otari Wilton, so if you haven't already cleared it out, feel free to grab a some more smilies on your day here.

Event will go on rain or shine. I might bring some extra chips and cookies for people, but you should pack your own lunch and drink if you are picniccing. Picnic blankets are a good idea as well. From the visitor centre there is a reasonable descent down to the picnic area (which of course means a reasonable ascent as well), but you can also approach it from several other directions for those with walking plans on the many trails.

I am not booking the cooking facilities, so we might not have access to the shelter if someone else does book it for a birthday party, but the hope is that such events would be from noon onwards, and that 11:00 will be fine.
