Geocache Description:

Samuel Horwitz - Mug Stooge.

Shemp has always been my favourite Stooge. He has always displayed just as much wild exuberance as his brother Curly and fitted very well into Curly's place as Third Stooge after Curly retired due to poor health. Shemp was actually the original Third Stooge in the 1920s for a period of almost ten years before Curly took over. Shemp had many unique mannerisms and idiosyncracies and he is the star in my all-time favourite Stooges episode - For Crimin' Out Loud (1956). This is a non-stop laughter fest with some ridiculously slaptick humour abounding. As an interesting aside, Shemp had a small part in the Abbott and Costello film Hold That Ghost (1941), a highly recommended film that may seem twee to some but delivers in spades.

This small series of four caches commemorates The Three Stooges, a slapstick comedy sketch that I've watched all my life. There are several iterations of The Three Stooges but the iterations with the four Stooges listed here are the most memorable. If you are a fan of The Three Stooges, feel free to mention who your favourite Stooge is.

This is an easily accessible cache alongside the Cumberland Highway, not meant to be troubling at all. Please be sure to replace the camouflage. Absolutely no parking along the Cumberland Highway. Polding Street is as well a hassle. There is plentiful parking along Brenan Street and Bourke Street. Also keep geokiddies close by as cars fly down this highway. Enjoy and L'chaim!
