I would like to do a series of caches that follow the Steamtown Marathon. I have run the Steamtown Marathon many time and the years I have not, I have watched it since it goes right by my house. Some of the cache hides might be places that the runners have run by and never even realized what they just passed because they are focused on surviving the marathon. 
In this series the cache name will include the approx. mile marker of the route. Therefore they can be placed in any order.
I had one here before, but it continually caused me problems and had been archived. I still want one here but I am changing the hide slightly. It is at the same coordinates, but is in a different container and a slightly different spot. So if you earned the smiley before, you have a chance to earn another one. Also, because the route has been changed since I first created this cache, I have updated the fistance.
This one is at Monkey Run Park. This park is approx. 6.0 miles from the start.
Oh Well, the Course was changed to put it on more trails, because of that the Mileage is off for this and most of the caches now. Luckily it is still on the route.
The park is dedicated to the Simpson area men who labored in and around the coal mines durning the turn of the century. At that time the area was called "Monkey Run" because the men worked in the Monkey Run slope of the Wilson Creek Mine. The public supported park was built by a small group of volunteers to honor those men. Develolped by Stephen "Cy" Voyce and John Bolak.
