As you walk around the north peak of Arabia Mountain, you will observe the results of extensive quarrying. Quarrying was accomplished by a drilling and wedging process. Dynamite was not used. The process involved a line of 6” to 8” deep drill holes placed at about one foot intervals.

After the holes were drilled, metal wedges were driven into a number of the holes causing a block of rock to split off along the line of drill holes. The block of rock was then pushed over using a dozer blade placed against the top of the row of metal wedges. You can see numerous examples of the drill holes as you walk around.

From the North Peak area, you can see Mountain Lake and the un-quarried, heavily visited, and scenic South Peak of Arabia Mountain.

Park at the Arabia Mountain Nature Center Parking Lot on Klondike Road and take the bike path south to a tree with an L shaped trunk where you can cross Klondike Road .
Proceed around the gate and take the woods road to the rock outcrop.
From the rock entrance portal take a southeast bearing to bypass several vertical rock faces.
Turn northeast at the coordinates noted below and proceed to the cache.
