The most serious erosion is occurring on a section of the trail that is steeper than would normally be allowed. The steeper the grade, the more serious the erosion. Maintenance is more difficult on this trail than any other trail on the Nature Preserve.
As you hike the trail notice how the trail is located and the erosion that is occurring.

Park at the Arabia Mountain Nature Center Parking Lot on Klondike road. Take the yellow marked Forest Trail. The cache is a short distance down the trail after the trail crosses the bike path. Near the cache, look for the opening onto the rock outcrop. No need to bushwhack .
