Some people like to be pole sitters, some would make it their career if they could. It would get boring for me, but to each his own.
You must stop at the Ranger Station and not only pay for the daily fee $$ for the park, you also need a free parking pass to park at All Weathered Gate to access this trail unless someone is dropping you off and picking you up? You can be ticketed or towed if you do not have a parking pass here, so please be aware of this and make sure to ask at the Ranger Station prior to going for this run.
Almost all of these caches are completely inside the park, except for two that can be gotten on either side of the gate. If you start at All Weathered Road parking and go the Power Line Gate it is an approximate 4 mile hike One Way. Best way to do it is to park at the All Weathered Parking area and then have someone drop you off at the Power Line gate.
Or you can do like I did without help, I locked up my bike at the Power Line gate and then went back and started at All Weathered Road parking, and then when I made it to Power Line gate I had to ride my bike back, not really suggesting this as I was really tired, it is like being in a Triathlon without the swim and the cars drive by here really fast and there is NO bike lane, so when the semi’s come roaring by you have to hold on tight from being blown off the road.
This trail can be accessed via hiking or biking (only a mountain bike and only if you are really hard core as this trail is not very smooth). So I highly recommend only hiking it.
The background of this cache page shows you what the road looks like, they keep it mowed most of the time but if not it can be a challenge
Please make sure to take adequate amounts of water and bug spray depending on the time of year.
There is very little to no shade for a majority of this hike, there are some shady trees near the end, so make sure to wear sun protection, whether it be sun screen, or long clothes and hats.
Please take a few seconds to close the container properly. What takes you a few seconds to do, saves us from spending hours and $$$$ replacing swag, logs and containers. Also please re-hide as well as you found it or better so it doesn't get muggled. Thanks!
