Geocache Description:


The cache is not at the posted coordinates.

The posted coordinates is where brand new aircraft were towed across Lakewood Blvd, from the McDonnell Douglas airplane factory to the flight line that was located at the airport at the other side of Lakewood. From the picture you can see that the crossing had dedicated traffic lights. At this location, a couple thousand newly built jets including Douglas DC-8, DC-9, DC-10 and later McDonnell Douglas MD-11, MD-80, MD-88 and Boeing 717 airplanes crossed Lakewood Blvd. When you look at google maps currently available, you can still spot the towing path from the Douglas factory turning to Lakewood.

The picture below shows the very first MD-11 passenger airplane, "ship 1", being towed across Lakewood Blvd. Many employees, aerospace geeks and plane spotters came out to catch a glimpse of this new bird.





PUZZLE:


1. Determine how many brand new MD-11 aircraft were towed here across Lakewood Blvd. Multiply this number by the number of wheels installed on each MD-11. This number is "M"
2. The MD-11 Model Series Airplanes consisted of Passenger and Freighter/Combi variants. How many MD-11 passenger airplanes were towed across? This number is "D"

Put the solution in the checker as "M-D". A solution would look like this: 3360-560

WHATEVER YOU DO TO SOLVE THE PUZZLE OR SEARCH THE CACHE:
1. No need to visit the middle of the road. It is unsafe. It is unlikely you get struck by an airplane nowadays but cars are flying by really fast here.
3. A keen eye and a gentle hand is all that is needed to retrieve the cache.
