Sunnyslope SD #756
1903-1958
SW-3-30-2-5
Somewhere in the vast area north of where you are standing, up to Highway 580, was Sunnyslope School. In 1926 over 400 trees were planted around the Sunnyslope school. The legacy may be one of the treed farms below, at least I would like to think so. I hope all the trees planted around the school weren't simply removed years later for a field. We are still trying to track down a photo of Sunnyslope School.
School was closed in 1938 for a time while being fumigated (Scarlet Fever epidemic).
In 1958 it was moved to the Francis farm where it served as a machine shop until it was accidentally destroyed by fire.
This geocache has been placed with the permission and assistance of the Carstairs Museum.
