Meet at the coordinates from 10am to 10.30am
WWFM – World Wide Flash Mobs – A fun and friendly way to promote geocaching around the world. Thousands of geocachers at dozens of coordinated events spanning the globe, gathering at the same time. Sonny and Sandy from San Diego, California came up with the WWFM idea in 2007 after attending a mega-event. It was meant to be a fun 'opposite' of a mega-event: all the cool aspects of a geocaching event, crammed into 30 minutes of excitement. An added dimension is represented by the letters "WW" - World Wide - these events occur across the planet on the same day at (mostly) the same time! These caching events are intended to bring geocachers together in a creative way, as well as introduce others (newbies) to the hobby.
This is my second attempt at a WWFM in Africa, my last attempt in 2014 was in Malawi, but no one came! This year I'm staying with my friend Beckel in Livingstone for a couple of weeks, including WWFM day. I usually arrange our local WWFM event in Lincoln, UK, but someone else will just have to do it this year!
There is no theme for this event, just come along, meet other cachers, share stories and make plans! I may have some trackables from the UK and would be very grateful if you could help with their missions. In particular, I have one of my own which is hoping to make it to Antarctica, having already visited every other continent! If you have plans for a visit there I'd be very grateful if you could give her a lift and drop her in a cache there! Similarly, if you have any TBs that you'd like me to take back to the UK, I'd be happy to help.
If this is your first event, just say so in your 'Will Attend' log and we'll look out for you and make you especially welcome!
Hope to see you there!
