Geocache Description:

Do read the title carefully – no hints are given!  But do ask if you struggle!

Cross the stream for this one.

The caches are placed to form a rectangular walk of 2.25 miles with good parking near lichen lodge – on a road that can get busy in the gardening season – but is away from the A34.  Take the path away from the A34 to the peace of Happy Valley; Oxford’s secret nature reserve with a boardwalk through a reed bed and a winding path through the woods.  In winter the old reeds are like threads of gold in the evening light whist in summer the bed is alive with warblers.  The walk is on the Southern side of a limestone valley where there is another path and a cache and where the thin soil is rich in wildflowers including Rock Rose, Liquorice, Bee and Pyramidal Orchid.

The walk passes through this delightful nature reserve where I trust you will respect and help protect the wildlife - please do not pick any flowers, leave no litter and take home only memories!

After leaving the woodland area the path winds up to a gate and a farm track beyond.  Turn left onto the farm road and continue to the bridle path; turning left again along a muddy bridle way before opening up to spectacular views over the dreaming city of Oxford.  Thence continue down the hillside path to rejoin the road running alongside the busy A34 and back to the start.
