There is plenty of room to park at the historical marker or road intersection. It is located on the east side of the highway but easily accessed by southbound travelers as well as northbound travelers. Masterson No.1 was the first gas well in the Texas Panhandle.
The picture of the painting, "Masterson No. 1", was done by my mother and hangs in my house. She did many paintings featuring Texas landscapes. She also designed the bicentennial coin for Hutchinson county. The cache was placed on my father's birthday.
