This is a micro cache to replace the one the tree..."ate". The original conatiner is still there but you will need to find the new one to claim the smiley. There are now over 100 caches hidden in this park (which includes the Legion Park/Conservation Area on the other side of Creve Coeur Mill Road). There are trails that lead close to most of the caches, and kayak rentals for the those that can't walk on water (not even when it's frozen; just don't do it). There even those high terrain caches for those so inclined to tackle them. There is plenty to do here in the park for all ages.
This point is a decision point for some people. Continue on the outer trail, or turn around and take the inner trail. Either way there will be caches along the route. Happy trails!
