I was a little early for the North Oakland Meet and Greet event which I attend every last Thursday of the month. I had a little time so I thought I would poke around to see if I could find any nice hiding spots for a cache. I walked out the main doors of the restaurant the event is held in and scanned the parking lot. There were several nice places to hide a cache. I looked to my left and spotted a lamp post. I walked down the sidewalk passing the dumpsters before I came to the driveway for the drive through. I looked both ways twice to make sure there was no traffic and then I crossed the driveway. Sure enough, there was that lamp post. But you can only really hide a micro in a lamp post and I didn't have any of those. But I did see a nice pine tree a little past the lamp post and to the left. Yes! That will do just fine. So I hung my cache in the pine tree for everyone to find. Now to get back in for some nice food and conversations with everyone else at the event.
