False Cape State Park is located in the southeast corner of Virginia on a barrier spit nestled between the Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge and North Carolina. Parking is available at the Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center. Is it part of what is often referred to as "Virginia Outer Banks." Access to False Cape State Park is obtained by hiking or bicycling through Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge or by boating across Back Bay. The terrain and difficulty are rated high due to the length of the hike or bike. I recommend bringing plenty of water, a snack, bug repellant, sunscreen, camera, map, compass, spare batteries, cell phone and a sense of adventure. Cache is in a highly sensitive area for nature and history as well. Please be respectful of the area, stick to the trails and NO BUSHWAKING.
This cache is a medium sized, clear lock-n-lock style container with a log book, pencil and collector's card.
