There are a lot of great caches in Galena. Unfortunately there is limited room for more. But we need more caches for our visitors. My answer is to surround Galena with caches. Project GC tracks caches found by owner. I am working on finding 100 caches from each of 20 owners. I think it is only fair that I have 100 caches for them to find. I need about 50 more hides to end up with over 100 active caches. What is a number around 50? 52 - a Deck of Cards!
I will place caches 4 at a time. I will try to add interesting information about each. All the history in Galena is not in town. I hope you enjoy this series.
The 5s will take you to Council Hill from IL Rte 84 N. Using this route and continuing east will drop you on W Stagecoach Trail just west of Scales Mound. Much shorter and quicker than going into Galena and heading back Northeast. It is also easy to get to Council Hill Station from Council Hill.
