Fifth Annual
Saxon Woods CITO
Yes, we're doing it again! Thanks to your awesome CITO work in the past four years, there is hardly any trash left! But I'm sure we can still "find" enough of it to keep us busy ...
The season so far has been pretty wet, so as always please come prepared for swampy terrain. Having a spare set of sneakers and socks in your car is recommended (sadly, there is no GC.com "attribute" icon for this :).
As usual, Saxon Woods CITO takes place during Earth Week, and is bound to earn you the coveted CITO geocaching souvenir! The event has the okay of the Parks Department, who will again provide trash bins and other equipment as needed. Fellow geocacher coringa212 works for Westchester County Parks, and will again help organize things on site.
We meet at the posted coordinates at 10:30am on Saturday, April 21. From there, we will proceed to the CITO location (about 0.7mi / 10 minutes away) and clean up what we can. Bring sturdy boots (or old shoes that you don't mind getting wet and dirty), and leather gloves if you have them. The CITO ends at noon, or when we run out of trash, whichever comes first.
Like in prior years, we can again use the Picnic Pavillion in the park for the day, and we will also host a Picnic Event there after the CITO, from noon-1pm, see Saxon Picnic #5 (GC7J9XM). You can attend the CITO, the picnic, or both, but only CITO participants will be eligible for raffle wins at the picnic.
Looking forward to see y'all again!
