O is for Obsession

which means the state of being obsessed with someone or something or an idea or thought that continually preoccupies or intrudes on a person's mind. Hmm, sounds a bit like geocaching for some.

I’ve started to run out of ideas for puzzles in this series. Pictures, questions, obscure information, or calculations - what to do for an obsession? How to disguise the location? I’ll just do a brain dump and see what comes out related to an obsession. There should be something there. (Hopefully).

We may have a compulsion to be the FTF or
We may need to get all those pesky green and blue dots off our maps or
We may can’t help but notice if there is a geocache near where we are going for supper or
We may need to just keep that streak going a bit longer or
We may need to fill those gaps in the calendar or D/T grid or
We may can’t give up solving that D5 puzzle cache or
We may need to just get that one more even though its near midnight and there is a torrential rainstorm or driving blizzard and it is half way up a cliff, in a tree and across a river or
We may need to get them all.

Obsession

Maybe obsessed
But I really enjoy the challenge to find them
Despite them hiding themselves so well away from me,
Whether under or over or behind
I look and I look until finally they’re revealed.

But really,
Not obsessed,
More like a pleasant hobby
That puzzles me most days
Until I get every last one.

More Obsession

This one cache of the twenty six represents what dozens of Edmontonians and more than 200 Albertans enjoy as their pleasant little calling. Whether at eleven at night or three in the afternoon while at work we all get that little call to check if there are two published to find before the end of the day. Two more is great but five are even better. There are so many but maybe an event and a power trail and pretty soon we break our personal record and maybe even get more than a hundred in a day.
