This series of caches have been approved by State Service Officer. Permit number 0102-2018
This is one of a series caches being placed in the Picayune Strand State Forest. Depending on what time of the that you visit this area, you could be walking in water anywhere from ankle to knee deep. To do this series you need to be prepared to wade, walk, and climb for seven miles.
The area that you will be going through is a cypress forest. Cypress trees do not grow in elevated areas, they like low lying areas with lots of rain. You may see bears, Florida panthers, water moccasins, and eastern diamond rattlesnakes.
Please don’t forget to pay the Iron Ranger.
