Geocache Description:

Kingsport Birding Trail (KBT): American Goldfinch

In this series of Kingsport Birding Trail (KBT) caches we are reminded that birds have much in common with geocaches. Mostly that they are all over the place but only recognized by an enlighted few smiley !!!

You can you hear the playful chatter of the American Goldfinch singing "Chip, chip, where is the dip?" over the nearby grassy areas.

This bird is known by it's lemon yellow plummage trimmed with stark black cap and black wings with white stripes during the summer nesting season. American Goldfinches are so beautiful they grace the covers of bird watching field guides! Please practice CITO and help preserve this important habitat for generations to come.

You are looking for a cache that may house some really small swag items. Part of the challenge for this hide is dodging muggles - good luck and please replace cache just like you found it so other geocachers can enjoy the same finding experience!

NOTE: Park closes at dusk
